O'Reilly Hospitality to build north Springfield hotel

Posted online
O'Reilly Hospitality Management LLC has set in motion plans to build a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott next door to its DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton on North Glenstone Avenue.

The new hotel will be constructed alongside an expanded DoubleTree conference center space, according to O'Reilly Hospitality owner Tim O'Reilly.

Construction on the project is slated to begin in second-quarter 2015 and open in mid-2016.

The 113-unit Fairfield Inn would include an indoor pool, fitness center and limited meeting space. O'Reilly said via email his company has executed the franchise agreement with Marriott and will receive financing for the project from Springfield First Community Bank.

"We believe that combining our world-class O’Reilly Hospitality operations and sales team at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton with a new Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites property and expanded conference space will give us a significant competitive advantage in this market," O'Reilly said.

This month, O'Reilly Hospitality opened TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 2009 S. National Ave., across from Mercy Hospital Springfield. Owned by RTT Hospitality LLC, the 110-unit hotel represents a partnership between Rita Baron of architecture firm Baron Design, Terry Reynolds of C. Arch Bay Co. and O’Reilly.[[In-content Ad]]
