The result of a multimillion-dollar renovation, scheduled for completion early next year, will be a 200-room Doubletree Hotel with four executive suites, more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and a full-service restaurant, according to an O’Reilly Hospitality news release. O’Reilly Hospitality managing member Tim O’Reilly, an attorney with O’Reilly & Jensen LLC, would not disclose an exact cost for renovations.
Doubletree is a Hilton Hospitality Inc. brand.
Kansas City area-based Noble Hospitality Inc. will handle renovations with help from architecture firms Miles Associates of Oklahoma City and Slone Architects PC of Springfield. Noble Hospitality also will manage the hotel. BancorpSouth is financing the project.
Renovations will include work on guest rooms, the atrium, conference spaces, heating and air systems, the pool and exercise facility, facades, parking and landscaping.
O’Reilly Hospitality, which purchased the property last August from Larken Springfield Hotel LLC, is comprised of Tim and Brooke O’Reilly, Ryan O’Reilly, and Charlie and Mary Beth O’Reilly. Springfield Business Journal first reported in February the acquisition and Tim O'Reilly's pursuit of the Doubletree flag.
The hotel opened in 1985 as a Ramada property. It became Sheraton Hawthorn Park in 1994 and changed to Hawthorn Park in December 2005.
