O'Reilly Development plans senior living center

Posted online
Newly founded O’Reilly Development Co. received formal approval this week from the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee to develop a 148-unit senior living community in Blue Springs.

The approved 40 assisted living units and 32 memory care units will be part of a continuum of care with an additional 76 independent living units to be built on a 15-acre tract of land, currently under contract, south of Interstate 70 on Adams Dairy Parkway, according to a news release.

“The unconditional support we have received from the city of Blue Springs, the planning and zoning department and the neighborhood residents confirms the awareness of the unmet demand for senior living services as defined in our market analysis,” said Patrick O’Reilly, owner of O’Reilly Development, in the release.

Founded this January, the Springfield-based company will partner with Kansas City-based SWD Architects, local general contractor Build LLC and Arrow Senior Living Management LLC out of St. Louis for operations and property management, according to the release.

“Our team is excited to move forward with such a supported project. We will be closing on the land in August. Construction should start prior to the end of the year,” said Denise Mathisen, O’Reilly director of operations and development, in the release.

The proposed senior community’s 32 memory care units would offer licensed care for Alzheimer's and dementia residents, meals, life safety equipment and notifications, nursing assistance and medicine administration.

Independent living units would comprise 10 studio apartments, 40 one-bedroom units and 26 two-bedroom units in a lodge-style building consisting of community common areas, offices, exercise and social rooms, a commercial kitchen and a beauty shop.

Adams Dairy Parkway is a newly developing corridor planned for up to 620,000 square feet of retail, 1.4 million square feet of office space and 12,000 residential units. To the north, retail stores such as Target and Home Depot have recently opened, while to the east the University of Missouri opened its Jackson County Extension Center and the city of Blue Springs is in the process of developing the Missouri Innovation Park and the Blue Springs Community Center, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
