O’Reilly Auto vice chairman sells 10K shares

O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) board Vice Chairman Charlie O'Reilly last week sold 10,000 company shares.

At roughly $268.42 apiece, the share sale netted the director $2.7 million, according to a Nov. 23 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The transaction occurred Nov. 21.

On Nov. 16, the O’Reilly Automotive Board of Directors approved a $750 million increase to the company’s share buyback program, bringing its aggregate to $7.75 billion.

The company in the third quarter posted net income of $278.5 million, a 4.6 percent bump from $266.3 million a year earlier. Diluted share earnings rose 25 cents to $2.93 per share.

ORLY shares were trading at $275.97 as of 9:17 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $225.12 to $292.84.
