O'Reilly Auto picks up Wis. parts store

Springfield-based O'Reilly Automotive Inc. purchased Teeta and Mike’s Champion Parts City in La Crosse, Wis.

The deal for undisclosed terms gives O'Reilly control of the car parts dealer after some 40 years of local ownership.

The La Crosse store made as much as $1.6 million in sales a year at one point, but in the past decade, yearly sales averaged just $500,000 — enough for a profit, but “just barely,” owner Michael Schleppegrell told the La Cross Tribune.
