Three directors and one executive of O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) last week bought and sold thousands of shares.
Collectively, the company officials purchased 8,000 shares and disposed of 3,700, according to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings.
The largest stock moves were made by Brad Beckham, the Springfield-based auto parts retailer’s senior vice president of eastern store operations and sales.
Beckham sold 3,000 shares at $255.56 apiece, netting $766,684. He also exercised options to buy 2,000 shares at $22.65 apiece and 1,000 shares at $32.19 apiece, for a total investment of $77,490, according to the SEC.
Three members of the board of directors also shifted shares.
John Murphy sold 500 shares at $256.19 apiece, valued at $128,094.
Paul Lederer disposed of 200 shares at $252.33, for a total of $50,466.
Jay Burchfield acquired 5,000 shares at $37.50 apiece, or $187,500, according to the SEC.
The stock options at O’Reilly allow executives to purchase stock at a pre-existing rate within a given time, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
In 2015, O’Reilly Automotive posted record net income of $931.2 million.
ORLY shares were trading at $258.93 as of 10:29 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $202.44 to $277.96.
