Opinion: Treat yourself to 50 years of America's favorite muscle car

Fridays can be a tough day to find your work groove, and today it might be extra hard to get into gear, what with the cold weather and upcoming short work week.
 
So go ahead and idle for just a few more minutes with CNNMoney’s cruise through 12 historic Ford Mustangs, in anticipation of the Dec. 5 rollout of the newly redesigned iconic muscle car, which turns 50 next year.
 
Spoiler alert: The hands-down coolest Mustang ever, the 1968 Mustang GT 390 Fastback S used in the classic car-chase scene in the 1968 Steve McQueen movie “Bullitt,” isn’t featured. Nuts.
