Opinion: Dear readers: Business journal experiences sought

Along with the staff of SBJ Publishing Inc., I am working on a project that communicates the message about how Springfield Business Journal and Joplin Tri-State Business Journal are different from other media.

While other publications are showing circulation decreases, our subscription numbers throughout southwest Missouri are holding steady. We believe that we continue to connect with readers in ways that make a difference during these uncertain economic times.

This is where we need your help. We want to know about the personal experiences of the readers and advertisers who have been helped by the Springfield Business Journal or Joplin Tri-State Business Journal. For example:

• Have you found customers in SBJ or JTBJ, or from a story that you have read in either of our publications?

• If you were featured in a story, did it help you find customers or other support?

• Did your advertisement in the business journal produce great results?

• Have you recently attended a business journal event? If yes, did you connect in meaningful ways with other attendees or honorees? Did you find new business? Did you establish relationships with new or former clients?

If you enjoy reading the Springfield Business Journal or Joplin Tri-State Business Journal and find them useful in your business or professional life, we would like to know about that, too.
