The new board chair of online real estate platform Opendoor is suggesting a reduction in the company's workforce by as much as 85%.
Keith Rabois, new board chair who also is co-founder of the company, said remote work and a "bloated" workforce have brought down the business.
"There's 1,400 employees at Opendoor. I don't know what most of them do. We don't need more than 200 of them," Rabois said on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street."
