Zanaboni-Smith Design Studio LLC
Several months after opening, Zanaboni-Smith Design Studio LLC relocated Sept. 1 to 205 Park Central East, Ste. 407, in the Holland Building. Landscape architects Frank Zanaboni and Jeff Smith launched the two-man shop in January and leased a shared office month-to-month on Commercial Street. Smith said the new fourth-floor office overlooks Park Central Square, which the landscape architects helped redesign a few years ago. “It’s neat to look out and see a project we’ve worked on and how people use the space,” Smith added. They’re currently working on landscaping features for the City Utilities bus transfer station. Smith said the business partners negotiated an increasing lease rate for one year with landlord Allen Casey. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 894-6796. Web: ZanaboniSmith.com

S. Truett Cathy Lower School
At College of the Ozarks, administrators in August opened the S. Truett Cathy Lower School serving K-8 students in a laboratory school setting on the Point Lookout campus. C of O spokeswoman Elizabeth Hughes said there are 139 elementary students enrolled at the school, named in honor of the founder of Chick-fil-A. Bubba Cathy, vice president of the restaurant chain and son of the late Truett Cathy, visited the school Nov. 19 for a dedication ceremony. In 2012, C of O added an upper school curriculum under the School of the Ozarks banner, and combined there are 230 K-12 students enrolled, Hughes said. Following the mission of the Christian liberal-arts college, Cathy Lower School students do not pay tuition but earn their education through age-appropriate chores. For instance, fifth and sixth graders clean the hallways, common areas and lunch tables, while the youngest students are responsible for keeping their own classroom spaces tidy. Hughes said the laboratory school employs 18 staff and faculty members. Hours: 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 501-6552. Web: CofO.edu/labschool
