Yallternative Eats
A food truck that launched last year rebranded in February and moved March 7 to Metro Eats, 2463 W. Sunshine St. Yallternative Eats, which debuted as Sweet & Sour Food Co. LLC, is owned by Devan Head and husband Bryson, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. She said the couple maintained the LLC with the rebrand but expanded their food truck size and menu, which originally focused on sweets, such as funnel cakes and fried Oreos. Yallternative Eats kept desserts on the menu but also now includes smash burgers, hot dogs and boba tea. Prices range $4-$12. Head said the beef for its burgers is supplied by Hetherington Cattle Co. in Crane. She said the couple doesn’t have a lease with Metro Eats owner Christina Shellhart and declined to disclose monthly costs to park on-site. Aside from Metro Eats, Head said they still take the four-employee food truck to businesses, festivals and weddings, among other community gatherings, in the Springfield area. A long-term goal is to open a brick-and-mortar burger shop, she said.

Mitchem Tire Co.
Automotive repair business Mitchem Tire Co. expanded its Christian County presence with the April 2 opening of a Nixa store. Brothers Steve Kruse Jr. and Cory Kruse, along with their father, Steve Kruse Sr., own the 4,800-square-foot store at 1842 N. Deffer Drive. Kruse Jr. said he and his brother also own the property, adding the building previously was occupied by U.S. Automotive Inc., which shuttered that location. The Nixa shop is the fifth location for Mitchem Tire, which also has stores in Springfield, Branson and Ozark. Employing six at the Nixa shop and 45 companywide, Kruse Jr. said the owners had been looking to expand, adding this will serve customers not wanting to make the drive to its Springfield and Ozark locations. Aside from wheel and tire sales, Mitchem Tire services include batteries, brakes, oil changes, preventative maintenance and wheel alignments.

Russell Group
Springfield-based commercial general contractor O’Reilly Build LLC was acquired April 29 by multistate construction and development company Russell Group, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa. The acquisition resulted in the fourth office for Russell Group, which officials say is part of an assertive growth plan. Melissa Pepper, chief strategy officer for Russell, said the company’s goal is to be at $700 million in revenue by 2027, adding its total in 2024 was $455 million. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Steve Monsanto, who was co-founder and director of construction at 2008-founded O’Reilly Build, has assumed the role of Russell vice president for Springfield. He said the O’Reilly Build office and staff remains the same, although new Russell signage is in place. The local headquarters is located at 5051 S. National Ave., Ste. 4-110, and the company has 14 local employees. Russell also has offices in the Kansas City area and St. Louis.
