Whiskey River Market LLC
Whiskey River Market LLC opened Nov. 15 at 1401 W. South St. in Ozark. Originally designed as a drive thru liquor store, co-owner David McPherson said services expanded to include an in-store cashier after less than expected first-week sales. At a project cost of about $900,000, McPherson and company built the 3,200-square-foot structure with a construction loan through Town and Country Bank in Mountain Grove. Whiskey River sells some 600 alcoholic products, nonalcoholic beverages and candy. McPherson, who runs the store with Manager Chase Boyd, said the south Ozark land is owned by a silent partner. Boyd said the store might add grocery items, as well. Hours: 9 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 485-6006. Web: WhiskeyRiverMarket.com

Schneider said his 860-square-foot office in the Holland Office Building is leased for $750 a month. A former managing attorney for New Mexico Legal Aid, Schneider has a bachelor’s in economics from Rice University and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. He said his hourly rate is $150. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 499-5055. Web: SchneiderLawLLC.com

Hansen Design LLC
Husband and wife Cody and Katie Hansen on Jan. 4 started Hansen Design LLC, offering event and party planning, designs and decorations from their Springfield home. After four years doing event planning on the side for free, the Hansens slowly accumulated inventory and had minimal startup costs, Katie Hansen said. The company provides services for weddings, birthdays and custom  interior design. The Hansens handle custom work, such as making their own table runners and decorations, and contract with J.D. Hansen Custom Draperies for other decoration needs. Katie Hansen said table runners cost $10-$15 on average and a full pricing structure is in the works. Hours: by appointment. Phone: (417) 763-0050.
