University of Missouri School of Medicine Springfield clinical campus
Administrators with the University of Missouri School of Medicine’s Springfield clinical campus cut the ribbon June 13 on the project nearly a decade in the works. The public-private partnership includes representation by MU, CoxHealth, Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri State University and the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Led by Dr. Andrew Evans of Mercy Clinic Springfield, the first class of nine students will finish their third and fourth years at the Springfield campus, housed at 1845 S. National Ave., where law firm Lathrop & Gage LLP previously operated. MU on March 1 signed a five-year lease, with a five-year renewal option, for 9,200 square feet with Gardner Properties of Springfield LLC, a company owned by Mark Gardner, president of Gardner Capital Inc. Weldon Webb, MU associate dean for Springfield clinical campus implementation, said the lease rate is $15 per square foot. Gardner Capital uses a portion of the building for back-office operations. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 720-7170. Web: Medicine.Missouri.edu
