Kimbrough Ave. Certified in aromatherapy from the Sarasota, Fla.-based Aromahead Institute, Baird consults clients in holistic wellness and performs custom blending of herbal extracts and essential oils. Startup costs were not disclosed. Baird said initial consultations are $75, follow-up appointments are $50 and 60-minute balneotherapy relaxation sessions are $75. Carter’s Inc.
Carter’s Inc. opened a Springfield store March 12 at 3310 S. Glenstone Ave. on the north end of Primrose Marketplace. Carter’s carries children’s clothes and shoes, ranging from newborn to youth size 12 and priced between $12 and $40, according to Store Manager Tammy Capra. Atlanta, Ga.-based Carter’s operates over 600 retail stores and outlets nationwide, including outlet stores in Branson and Osage Beach, according to its website. With 16 employees, the 3,800-square-foot Springfield store is leased from Primrose Marketplace 625 LLC, according to Greene County assessor records. The startup costs were undisclosed. Peanuted LLC
Peanuted LLC was formed Jan. 26, following three days of entrepreneurial brainstorming during Startup Weekend at The eFactory. Co-owners Emerald McCracken, Tylor Hindery, Daniel Burton and Murat Caturk developed the Web-based service for people to send friends or family members personalized notes and candy stuffed in a box of packing peanuts. Customers choose from three sizes: Mini-Nut for $10, Awesome for $19 or Ridiculous for $39, with free shipping. McCracken said the business partners are seeking a third party to handle shipping. Customers can choose to make a charitable donation of 10 percent to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, United Way or Convoy of Hope. There were no startup costs, McCracken said. Hindery, a Web developer and 2009 finance graduate from Missouri State University, also co-founded startups Photo Share Club and Clear Rock Tech LLC.
