Levi Grant on June 11 launched New York-style pizza place The Big Slice LLC at 1450 E. Sunshine St. With topping choices such as pepperoni, ham, sausage, beef, jalapenos, mushrooms, pineapple, green peppers and black olives, Grant said the creamy spinach pizza already has become a customer favorite. The 2,000-square-foot space houses 48 patrons. Grant signed a one-year lease with the John W. Allan Trust and invested about $35,000 in the startup. An 18-inch cheese pizza is $15, with specialty pizzas, such as the creamy spinach and meat lovers, selling for around $17.50. Lasagna is $6.50. Hours: 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. All About Paint
Don Goddard opened his home-based business All About Paint on Jan. 3. Goddard said the company primarily handles residential interior painting jobs but also performs interior and exterior residential and commercial repainting, including two Old Missouri Bank branches in Springfield. Goddard, the sole employee, has worked as a remodeler for 20 years as owner of Custom Lifestyles and decided to narrow his scope. Branson Segway and Adventure Center
Branson Segway and Adventure Center opened May 4 at 299 State Highway 165, just south of Highway 76. General Manager Steve Hager said the two-acre property has a paved riding track with speed bumps and grass islands for riders of the Segway Personal Transporter street models available for $17 for seven minutes, $22 for 15 minutes or $25 for 20 minutes. Owned and operated by Attractions Management Group LLC, the center’s seven employees train riders until they feel comfortable. Riders sign a liability release form, and trainers remain on the course.
