The Artisan’s Oven LLCThe Artisan’s Oven LLC, a six-year-old retail and wholesale bread shop, moved May 17 to 206 E. Commercial St. from 1832 S. Ingram Mill Road. Owner
Craig Crosby said he occupied a 4,000-square-foot vacant space, quadruple the size of his previous location. The scratch bakery delivers goods weekly to 15 restaurants, including Queen City Deli, Ocean Zen, Touch and Big Easy Grill, and seven grocery stores, such as MaMa Jean’s Natural Market, Homegrown Foods and Price Cutter. Crosby said he recently added The Tower Club account. He signed a five-year lease with landlord Dan Johnson for $2,333 per month and escalating throughout the term. Crosby said Johnson covered the infill expense, and Artisan’s Oven borrowed $70,000 through a city low-interest loan program for working capital and new equipment purchases. With the move, he’s increased employment to seven and created seating for retail customers, offering pastries and coffee. Hours: 6 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 885-5030.
