Tamale Kings Baja Grill opened for business Oct. 5 at 2926 S. Campbell Ave. in Imperial Plaza. The 80-seat Mexican restaurant offers a mixture of authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex cooking, said chef and co-owner Carlos Gonzalez (pictured). Gonzalez and parents Ramon and Maria Gonzalez also own Tamale King Mexican Deli. Baja Grill is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
Agrario owner Eric Zackrison opened Patton Alley Pub on Oct. 1 at 313 S. Patton Ave. Patton Alley Pub is located next door to Agrario, an upscale Mediterranean-themed restaurant. The facilities share a 2,500-square-foot banquet room that can hold up to 200 people. Patton Alley Pub also has a 2,500-square-foot bar area. Zackrison renovated the former Renegades space in three months and spent $150,000 on construction costs. It is open 11-1:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday.
Ozark Empire Fairs Center Hall of the E*Plex opened for business Oct. 3. The Center Hall is a 10,100-square-foot addition to the E*Plex suitable for seminars, small trade shows and casual gatherings, said Marla Calico, Ozark Empire Fair manager. The space can be divided into as many as six smaller rooms, can accommodate a 42-booth trade show, or can accommodate up to 400 people for a sit-down meal, Calico added. It was built primarily for expansion of existing shows, but it also can be rented for smaller, standalone events, Calico said. Rental rates vary depending on the event.
Home accessories retailer Distinctive Dcor opened for business Oct. 24 at 1968 E. Chestnut Expressway in the Chestnut Condos. The store sells eclectic home furnishings such as art, lamps, candles and some furniture, including bookcases, armoires and chairs, said manager Robin Kepplin. Tiffany and Dane Wilgus own the store. Distinctive Dcor is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
