Strong GymBusiness partners
Paden Stringer, Matt Reynolds and
William McNeely relocated Strong Gym on Feb. 2 to 506 S. Jefferson Ave. Previously operating at 773 N. West Bypass, Stringer said the gym had outgrown the 3,000-square-foot space, and the new site better suits their barbell and bodyweight training programs. He said the owners had an eye on moving downtown, and the 13,000-square-foot building is leased from Patti Penny, Stringer’s grandmother. Stringer said the partners self-financed the $600,000 renovations, which took roughly six months to complete. Each owner has 10 years of weight training experience, and the gym offers mixed martial arts and jujitsu classes by six-year martial arts trainer Phillip Pierce. Strong Gym, which offers a three-month contract for $50 a month or $350 for a one-year membership, also has tanning, massage therapy, Zumba and yoga classes. Hours: 5:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.–midnight Saturday. Phone: (417) 315-8034.
