i-Verified Background Screening Services LLCBrandy Bishop launched i-Verified Background Screening Services LLC on Oct. 7. Operating from Bishop’s Springfield home, i-Verified offers background checks and education and employment verification services through access to 15,000 databases internationally as a Background Screeners of America affiliate. Bishop said clients can run their own searches through the company’s website, starting at $8 for a single search on one individual and $45 for a search package on one individual. Bishop, an adjunct faculty member at Drury University, moved to Springfield in 2006 with her husband, Dave, who is the facilities director for Springfield Public Schools, after he served as a police officer in their previous home state of Florida. Gordon Brown said the community outgrew the original center, a former National Guard armory built in 1930 and occupied by the YMCA in 2004. The Monett Family YMCA, designed by Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. and built by Wirt-Flavin Construction Co., features Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible swimming pools, water slides, basketball and racquetball courts, game rooms, a rock wall and children’s play areas. Brown, who has directed Monett’s YMCA and its eight employees since January 2006, said the new building also can hold community events with a conference room, kitchen and concessions space.
