South Oaks Pharmacy
Jim Coker opened South Oaks Pharmacy on June 22, branching out from the Rogersville Pharmacy he started in 2007. The 1,400-square-foot space in the South Oaks Center, 3305 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. D, is the former home of Cartridge World. In addition to filling prescriptions and selling over-the-counter items, the business offers copying and fax service and a Kodak photo kiosk. For prescriptions, Coker provides price matching and free delivery in Springfield. The business has two full-time and two part-time employees. Startup costs were $150,000, financed by a U.S. Small Business Administration-backed loan, he said. Monthly rent is $2,200, according to the pharmacy’s five-year lease with Jared Enterprises, Coker said. Hours: 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 895-9900. Dublin’s Pass
Paul Sundy opened Irish-pub Dublin’s Pass on June 24 at 2767 W. Republic Road. With Irish-inspired humor, the menu touts a perfect Guinness pour – exactly 119.53 seconds in duration. Burgers are $7, and traditional Irish bangers and mash, aka sausages and potatoes, costs $9. The pub, which occupies roughly 2,700 square feet in the former Big Willy’s site, employs about 20 people, three of whom work full time, manager Matt Sumners said. Startup costs were $200,000, partly financed by Peoples Bank, Sundy said. The lease with Wilson Creek Properties is for five years, with three five-year options, he said, declining to disclose rent. Hours: 3 p.m.–1:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 3 p.m.–midnight Sunday. Phone: (417) 877-7625. Web: dublinspass.com

Maurices
Young women’s clothier Maurices opened a store on Aug. 11 in the new Walnut Shadow Center, 1966 W. Retail Lane, in Ozark. Rachel Hornor, who has worked at the corporate store at Battlefield Mall for nine years, is stepping up to her first store manager position. The corporation specializes in trend-oriented clothing, in sizes 1 to 24, Hornor said, noting the store’s jeans line runs between $29 and $34 a pair. The Ozark store occupies 5,000 square feet and employs two full-time and six part-time workers. Hours: 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday–Saturday; noon–6 Sunday. Phone: (417) 485-2410. Web: maurices.com
