Soul Beauty Aesthetics
Nearly a year after opening downtown, medical spa Soul Beauty Aesthetics rebranded and moved Sept. 4 to 3534 E. Sunshine St., Ste. B. Owner and sole employee Sarah Lewis said the name change from Hydration Sensation Wellness & Beauty LLC was to better align with her clients’ needs, noting the primary clientele is seeking advanced aesthetic treatments and personalized care. The business launched in October 2023 at 420 W. College St., Ste. 104. Services include IV infusions, Botox treatments, injectables such as vitamin B12 and zinc and weight loss consultations. Lewis said hair restoration and laser treatments, which includes tattoo removal and redness reduction, are among the spa’s newer services. She said relocation and renovation costs were roughly $5,000 for the 1,100-square-foot space in Sunshine Plaza Offices, adding she signed a three-year lease for $1,225 per month with MTH Realty LLC. In addition to Soul Beauty Aesthetics, Lewis said she still works as a family nurse practitioner at CoxHealth Center Marshfield.

The Bikes & Brew Bodega
Jan. 15 was the soft opening for The Bikes & Brew Bodega, a new coffee shop at The Fairbanks. The venture operates in nearly 900 square feet on the second floor of the 1126 N. Broadway Ave. facility in Grant Beach. Since March 2024, the space housed Hidden Grounds Coffee House, which shuttered its shop in January. Officials with the business said it would continue under a mobile and pop-up model. Amy Blansit, founder and CEO of the Drew Lewis Foundation Inc., said The Bikes & Brew Bodega is a partnership between the nonprofit, the Fairbanks Bike Shop and Springfield Community Gardens. She said the menu is still under development. Blansit said The Bikes & Brew Bodega, which also sells bikes on display, is largely operated by Springfield Public Schools students through the BASE Project. That initiative, which stands for business associated student education, allows students with an individualized education program to work in the community to develop career and social skills.

Bricks & Minifigs
Specialty toy store Bricks & Minifigs held a grand opening on Dec. 28 for its expanded space at 1570 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. E, in the Galleria Shopping Center. The Springfield shop, which is part of a nationwide chain of stores where customers can buy, sell and trade new and used Lego pieces, sets and minifigures, doubled in size with the expansion. Phil Vice, who is a franchisee of the local store with his wife, Tiffany, said they knocked down the wall of the next-door suite, previously occupied by Soulfire Hair Co. & Esthetics LLC, to increase the location size to 6,400 square feet. Vice said the hair salon moved to another location within the shopping center. Expansion costs were roughly $50,000, Vice said, noting aside from more space to display and sell inventory, the addition allows for a larger party room, doubling capacity to around 40 people. Bricks & Minifigs, which opened its first shop in 2010, has over 160 locations in the U.S., according to its website.
