So You Boutique opened for business July 24 at 1314 E. Battlefield Road. Owner Thuy Dam, pictured, said the store carries contemporary apparel and accessories for men and women, as well as unique gifts with an Oriental theme. Dam, a California-native, said the store is modeled after West Coast shops. Items range from $5 to $250, she said, featuring designers BCBG and Max Studio. So Youis open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.|ret||ret||tab|

Running with Scissors, a hair stylist service for the homebound, opened for business July 1. Proprietor Debra Donham takes her hair-cutting skills to the homes of the elderly, homebound, or "anyone who wants me to run to them," she said. "I take my business to them." Donham is licensed by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology. Appointment times are flexible. Donham primarily works in a 50-mile radius from Springfield. The Law Office of Dee Wampler moved July 21 to the firm's new building at 2974 E. Battlefield. Springfield defense attorney Dee Wampler outgrew the former 1200 W. Woodhurst Drive location and constructed a $1.5 million, 8,000-square-foot office. Attorney Joseph Passanise and paralegals Kay McMillan and Aimee Ammons join Wampler.|ret||ret||tab|

Futons and More opened May 21 in Battlefield Mall, 2825 S. Glenstone Ave. Owner Sherri Botts, who moved here from Arkansas, opened the store after more than 20 years in furniture sales. The start-up business sells futons, area rugs, mirrors, lamps, tables and throw blankets. Botts said she chose the mall for its foot traffic and eye appeal.
