Price Cutter opened a new Springfield grocery store Oct. 29 at 1730 S. Campbell Ave. Ramey Price Cutter acquired the former Turner's IGA from Dave Turner in September. Store Director Rod Smith (pictured) said the 45,000-square-foot store employs 55 full-time and part-time employees. The facility, renovated by Missouri Supermarket Builders, features a deli/bakery, meat, seafood and produce departments, and a pharmacy, Smith said. It is open 6 a.m.-midnight daily.|ret||ret||tab|
The Springfield-Greene County Park Board opened three new facilities Dec. 1: Chesterfield Aquatics Center, Doling Family Center and Northview Center. Chesterfield Aquatics Center, 2511 W. Republic Road, is a 21,000-square-foot addition to the Chesterfield Family Center featuring 6,000 square feet of water surface with a zero-depth entrance, children's play area, exercise lanes and an indoor/outdoor water tube. Doling Family Center, 301 E. Talmage St., comprises 25,500 square feet connecting to Northview Center. It contains a community room, party room, game room, gym and indoor track, aerobics and weight-training rooms and a child-care facility. Chesterfield and Doling centers are open 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Northview Center is an 18,500-square-foot facility featuring a central ballroom surrounded by an arts and crafts room, pool, exercise room, computer lab, meeting rooms and a kitchen. It replaces the Northview Senior Citizen Center, 2600 N. Robberson Ave., and is open 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The three projects cost approximately $8.15 million and are paid for through the 1/4-cent sales tax for parks approved by voters in November 2001.|ret||ret||tab|
Endless Time & Jewelry opened for business Nov. 28 at 2902 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. F in Imperial Plaza. Owner Quan Ngo, whose family developed the plaza, said the store carries high-end jewelry, from $100 to $1 million custom pieces, and watches from $100 to $10,000. Ngo, who worked at Justice Jewelers for three years, is a graduate jeweler and graduate gemologist from Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, Calif. Ngo employs two other former Justice Jewelers workers: shop manager Lindsay Huff and custom jeweler Greg Hook. Endless Time & Jewelry is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.|ret||ret||tab|
