Piano Craft
In business for over a quarter-century, Piano Craft Inc. moved Feb. 2 to its new location at 4240 S. Fremont Ave. Shelley Wilson-Murdaugh co-owns the company started in 1999 with her husband, Greg Murdaugh. The company relocated from 1675 E. Seminole St. and Jim Hearn, Piano Craft executive vice president, said it prepared for the shift for a few months by holding a liquidation sale. Piano Craft employs roughly six staffers, Hearn said, noting the company spent a “good chunk of money” on building out the new 5,000-square-foot Fremont Avenue facility, declining to disclose specifics. He said much of the company’s client base is located near the Republic Road and Fremont area, adding the new location will provide improved exposure. Hearn said Piano Craft needed better space to accommodate the three main facets of its business: sales of pianos, ongoing customer service tasks like piano-cleaning and piano-tuning, and logistic service to help piano owners move their musical instruments.

Keller Williams Local
With over 20 years in the real estate market as Keller Williams Greater Springfield, the Queen City firm announced Jan. 13 that it is now Keller Williams Local, as part of a rebranding effort. It continues to operate from its 1619 E. Independence St. office. Officials at the firm, which was founded locally in 2003, say it has experienced significant growth in its number of agents and residential units sold over the past couple of years. Rachel Watson, operating principal, said the company now supports roughly 480 agents who serve clients not only in Springfield, but areas such as Ava, Bolivar, Cabool, Rolla, West Plains, as well as northern Arkansas. She declined to disclose the firm’s rebrand investment, which was handled internally. It was a growth year in 2025 for residential sales at the firm, Watson said: It ended the year with 4,703 residential transactions, resulting in around $1.4 billion in sales. The average home sale price was roughly $300,000, she said, adding she expects the agent count to reach 500 by year’s end.
