Painter's Choice opened June 1 in Nixa at 1212 Bryan St. General Manager Jake Richards said the store carries Coronado paints, stains and finishes. Painter's Choice also offers contracting services for residential, commercial and industrial jobs. Another location is open in Bolivar. Richards said he and owner Kurt Swihart opened the retail store after working for years as paint contractors. "We started a paint store because we were buying enough to support our own store," he said. It is open 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
Springfield Family Medicine moved May 7 to 3231 S. National Ave. in the Smith-Glynn-Callaway Medical Building because of the extensive restructuring of St. John's campus. The office was previously in the Whiteside Medical Building. Office manager Kathryn Michaels said, "This may not be our permanent home," but she expects to be there for a couple of years. Drs. Tim Wilson, Jay Sparks and Volare Yantis run the board-certified family practice, which has a staff of 13. The office is open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 8 a.m.-noon Thursday.
Internet-based used car dealer Wheelerauto.com moved July 29 to 1610 E. St. Louis St. Owner Kirk Wheeler said the dealership outgrew its previous showroom and warehouse space on East Chestnut Expressway. The new 4,300-square-foot building boasts a three-car showroom, which fittingly will be decorated in a Route 66 theme, and a warehouse for up to 18 vehicles. Wheeler also purchased the 16,500 square feet of property the building sits on. Wheeler said he is glad to invest in the downtown area. "I'm looking forward to the area improving here over the next several years and helping be part of the improvement," he said. Wheelerauto.com has been in business for two years and has four employees. Its hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
