Ozarks Farm Stop
Ozarks Farm Stop, which is part grocery store, part famers market, opened Aug. 22 at 401 South Ave. The venture is serving local products through a partnership with Farmers Market of the Ozarks, according to its organizers. The 10,000-square-foot storefront includes meat, produce and dairy products, handmade jewelry and pottery, health and wellness items, and grab-and-go offerings like pastries. Karissa Kary, founder of Ozarks Farm Stop and director of the Farmers Market of the Ozarks, said farm stops are becoming a nationwide trend, and she wanted to create a grocery store that supports local farmers. Traditional farm shares give an average of 15 cents on the dollar to the farmer, but through the farm stop, vendors will receive at least 70% of the retail price for each item, Kary said. Featured vendors will receive around 75%. Vendors have portals to see what has been sold, what their inventory looks like, and are paid twice a month, Kary said. She declined to disclose startup costs and lease terms with Three D Properties Inc.

Ozarks Retirement Group
Financial planning firm Trinity Insurance & Financial Services Inc. officially changed its name to Ozarks Retirement Group LLC on Sept. 1, said co-owner and President Brad Pistole. The 17-year-old firm, which operates at 5511 N. Farm Branch Road, Ste. 101, in Ozark, provides retirement financial planning services. Hunter Pistole, vice president, co-owner and son of Brad, said the company serves 1,500 clients and manages $400 million in assets. Brad said the names Trinity Insurance & Financial Services and Safe Money Radio would continue to be utilized under the Ozarks Retirement Group umbrella. He is the weekly host of “Safe Money Radio” on KWTO 560 AM and KSGF 104.1 FM, where he gives financial planning advice and responds to retirement questions. Nearly Famous Deli and Pasta House
With roots dating back nearly five decades, Nearly Famous Deli and Pasta House is under new ownership. Dan and Tiffany Brown acquired the 2708 S. Glenstone Ave. restaurant in Brentwood Center North from Nancy Miller in a deal that finalized Aug. 25 for undisclosed terms. Brown said he has worked in the restaurant business for around 30 years, with the last nine at Nearly Famous Deli in both front and back of house. He said he’s the hands-on operational owner in the 14-employee business, and Tiffany is behind the scenes in payroll and other administrative functions. Under his and his wife’s ownership, Nearly Famous may explore adding more appetizers and expanding business at night in addition to its lunch offerings, and they’ll be shopping around as they examine operational costs, Brown said. He said the couple signed a new 10-year lease on the building with Jared Enterprises Inc. Miller had owned Nearly Famous Deli and Pasta House since 2006, when she bought the restaurant from founder Suze Dunville Powell.
