Omo Japanese Soul Food
Oct. 10 was opening day for Omo Japanese Soul Food’s new space in Chesterfield Village at 2215 W. Chesterfield Blvd. Omo relocated from 2101 W. Chesterfield Blvd., Ste. B-102, where it operated since opening seven years ago. The restaurant was temporarily closed for two days as the relocation was completed. Co-owner Jay Jung estimated relocation expenses at $2.5 million, including purchase of the roughly 7,500-square-foot building, which he bought from Llama Nation Properties LLC. The restaurant, which offers ramen, sushi, curry and other dishes, has myriad nods to Japanese culture inside, including cherry blossoms, paper lanterns and anime, comprising large-scale figurines and a video slideshow of films by Japanese animation company Studio Ghibli. The restaurant additionally has a mobile robot styled as a cat that serves drinks, and seating capacity is 175. Jung said the new Omo restaurant is starting with 25 employees, and he plans to bring on 20 more staff evenly split between the kitchen and front of house. An updated menu also is planned, he said.

Fusion Eatz
After launching last year, Fusion Eatz Acai Bowls & Wraps relocated Oct. 10 within the Battlefield Mall. The restaurant moved from its spot with an exterior door on the east side of the mall to the northwest corner of the food court. The space previously was home to London Calling Pasty Co., which relocated in January to Nixa food hall 14 Mill Market. Rima Walker, who co-owns Fusion Eatz with boyfriend Mukesh Naik, said the move was made to increase visibility to customers. She declined to disclose relocation and renovation costs or lease terms with mall owner Simon Property Group. Fusion Eatz features acai bowls and fusion bowls, which Walker describes as two foods from different cultures put together with an Indian twist. Menu options include a variety of fusion tacos and the Fusion Bowl, which features a choice of protein – beef, chicken, egg or paneer, an Indian fresh cheese – topped with fusion rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, masala onions, and fusion and sriracha sauce. Prices range $6-$15.

That GenZ Agency
A 4-year-old Springfield marketing firm that was started when its owner was still in high school has rebranded. Formerly Bells Marketing Consultant LLC, CEO Jonathan Bell said his venture is now That GenZ Agency Inc. The name change was formally made Oct. 1, Bell said, noting he also altered the business structure to an S-corporation from an LLC. Bell said he made the change to S-corporation status due to cost savings with taxes, adding he currently has no shareholders. All expenses associated with the rebranding effort were handled in-house, he said, declining to disclose the cost. His firm, which continues to maintain its office downtown in coworking space at Missouri State University’s Efactory, offers growth marketing services to attract Generation Z on social media. The seven-employee company also has a consulting division that educates clients and advises them on engaging Gen Z in the workforce, according to its website. Bell said the firm plans to hire interns by early 2025.
