Allison Kraft on Jan. 6 added a second Nonna’s Italian American Café at 3512 S. National Ave. The 3,800-square-foot establishment is the former home of Schultz & Dooley’s Too. The building is owned by South National Centers LLC and managed by Sperry Van Ness/Rankin Co. “We just had a lot of interest and requests from people saying that we should expand to the south side,” said Allison Kraft, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. The new location features the same traditional Italian-American menu as the 306 South Ave. eatery, emphasizing soups, salads and pastas. Marvin L. Miller moved his office Jan. 1 to 2032 E. Kearney St., Ste. 114. Miller said he signed a two-year lease with Metroplex Investment Group for an undisclosed amount. The firm employs two full-time staff and one part-time employee at the 1,000-square-foot office. Primarily a tax practice with 350 individual and small-business clients, Miller said the firm also offers financial planning and work for overseas missionaries. With 37 years of accounting experience, Miller said he’s worked independently the last eight years. She previously worked in the pharmaceutical field and joined State Farm in 2010 as an intern with Fred Harle’s Springfield agency, where she worked for more than a year. The agency offers property and casualty, life and health insurance, as well as financial services such as retirement planning, said Wegrzyn, who is one of three full-time and one part-time employees.
