Battlefield Road, the merged offices employ 15 in 6,000 square feet – up from four employees in 2,000 square feet in Ozark. Debi Campbell, personal lines manager said CEO Tom Naught saw more opportunity for growth in Ozark. Founded in 1972, the Jefferson City-based independent insurance agency employs 134 across 13 Missouri offices, providing life, car, homeowners, health, renters and business coverage. Campus Bellhops
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Campus Bellhops expanded into Missouri on May 1 with the hiring of Tyler Bahr as campus director/intern to perform dorm move-in service at Missouri State University. Founded in 2011 by Stephen Vlahos and Cameron Doody, Campus Bellhops also provides loading, unloading and full moving services within 15 miles of the campus operation. As campus director, MSU hospitality management student Bahr has hired around 40 part-time staffers to run the Springfield branch, which has completed 33 jobs. Director of Operations Matt Patterson said Campus Bellhops operates in 48 college towns – it added Columbia the same day as Springfield – and customers can reserve their moving dates and locations on an online jobs board accessible to all area bellhops. Companywide, Campus Bellhops works with 2,000 college students as bellhops and charges a flat rate of $125 for truck rental, plus $75 per hour for labor. Hours: 7 a.m.– 9 p.m. daily. CKC Data Solutions
Business partners Brent Reagan and Matt Terrill opened CKC Data Solutions on May 17. Working out of their homes, the company handles installation, service, sales and maintenance of network, fiber-optic and coaxial cables for small businesses. Reagan said CKC Data got off the ground with $5,000, spent on purchasing the necessary tools, business licenses and insurance. Reagan previously worked for CIS Data Services for 10 years, and Terrill worked for Losh Communications for 14 years. The hourly rate for service is $55. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
