Motto Mortgage Community Partners
Brothers Alex and Nick Paulson collaborated to launch a Springfield office for Motto Mortgage, a subsidiary business of Denver, Colorado-based Re/Max Holdings Inc. The 4145 S. McCann Court, Ste. F, office, dubbed Motto Mortgage Community Partners, opened March 1, said Nick Paulson. He said the brokerage offers multiple loan options for purchasing or refinancing houses. It also can help with reverse mortgages, down payment assistance programs and vacant land purchases. The Paulsons own the local franchise via Brothers Finance LLC. Alex Paulson said they have a staff of three loan officers with hopes of doubling that total within the first year. He declined to disclose startup costs or their three-year lease rate for the roughly 2,000-square-foot office with Bradford Park LP. The new brokerage marks Motto Mortgage’s first location in southwest Missouri and fourth in the state. Motto Mortgage, which launched in 2016, also has Missouri locations in Blue Springs, Herculaneum and St. Louis among its over 220 offices in more than 40 states.

Lawrence County Health Department
The Lawrence County Health Department moved March 1 to its newly constructed facility at 1549 Missouri Drive in Mount Vernon. Administrator Janella Spencer leads the 14-employee department, which previously was located since 1995 in 6,000 square feet at 105 W. North St. Branco Enterprises Inc. served as construction manager at risk and Esterly, Schneider & Associates Inc. was architect for the $5.4 million, 15,250-square-foot project. The building houses the Women, Infants and Children program and includes exam rooms, vaccination and immunization rooms, administrative offices and storage and filing space. Spencer said the prior location on North Street suffered from overcrowding issues, which limited hiring additional staff. The county utilized American Rescue Plan Act and Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds for the project. Up the road at 1525 Missouri Drive, the $23 million Lawrence County Law Enforcement Center opened last year, comprising a 120-bed jail that replaced the county’s 52-bed facility built in 1986.
