Modern Outdoor Tackle
Nixa gained a fishing retail shop with the Dec. 1 opening of Modern Outdoor Tackle at 694 W. Mt. Vernon St. The venture owned by Westin Yancey fills 1,500 square feet in City Centre Marketplace. Startup costs were $60,000, he said, declining to disclose the three-year lease rate with Maples Properties LLC. The five-employee shop sells fishing equipment and accessories, such as rods, reels, lines, baits and store-branded apparel. Fishing lines range $5-$50, while rods are $25-$260, according to the store’s website. Yancey said he also runs his Modern Outdoor Media LLC digital marketing company out of the same space. He started the marketing company as a home-based business five years ago and serves clients in the outdoor industry, including G3 Boats and Megabass of America Inc. Yancey said he saw an opportunity to sell some of the same products he markets through Modern Outdoor Media.

Tolbert Realtors
Veteran Springfield attorney Terry Tolbert and Realtor Kat Tolbert added a real estate brokerage to the market with the Sept. 17 launch of Tolbert Realtors. The married couple serve as managing brokers for the venture, which occupies 1,000 square feet inside the Tolbert & Beadle LLC law office building, 3010 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. C. Kat Tolbert left Murney Associates, Realtors, which she joined in 2016, to start Tolbert Realtors. She said startup costs were roughly $10,000 for the brokerage, which employs three. Terry Tolbert remains a partner in the personal injury and workers’ compensation firm with William Beadle. He’s practiced law for about 25 years and is not involved in the day-to-day business of the brokerage, according to spokesperson Emily Laurie of Laurie Marketing LLC.

CoxHealth Ozark
The $9 million CoxHealth Ozark “super clinic” opened Dec. 21 at 5100 N. Town Centre Drive. The 30,000-square-foot facility was built on land CoxHealth purchased at the southwest corner of highways 65 and CC. KCI Construction Co. served as general contractor for the project designed by H Design Group LLC and BSA LifeStructures. CoxHealth officials call the facility a “super clinic,” as it brings multiple types of health care under one roof: primary and urgent care, pediatrics, a pharmacy and physical therapy. It replaces the former urgent care clinic at 5548 N. Farmer Branch Road, said CoxHealth spokesperson Kaitlyn McConnell. She said Kaye Jarrell is administrator for the clinic’s staff of 54. The health care system also in December opened a similar clinic in Nixa, with additional sites under development in Monett and Republic.
