Mid America Mortgage Services of Springfield Inc. moved Sept. 10 to 3130 S. Fremont Ave., the former offices of Croley Insurance & Financial Inc. Mid America Mortgage operated from 1310 E. Sunshine St. since owners Dennis and Polly Vance (pictured) started the business here nine years ago. The company offers home loans. Mid America Mortgage_s home office is in Columbia and there are eight offices throughout Missouri, Kansas and Illinois. The Vances also own a Lebanon office. The Vances purchased the 2,500-square-foot building from Tom and Andrea Croley, who constructed a new office at 3705 E. Battlefield Road. Mid America Mortgage is open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dennis Vance is a former Guaranty Bank vice president.|ret||ret||tab|

Metropolitan National Bank opened a new location Sept. 8 at 716 W. Mt. Vernon, Nixa. The $1 million, 3,500-square-foot stand-alone facility features full-service banking and three drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM. The bank had leased space in a strip center at 338 N. Massey Blvd. Branch Manager Melodi Conner said there are nine employees in Nixa and 95 throughout the bank_s five locations. Marshfield Investment Co. owns the bank. Metropolitan National Bank_s lobby is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and the drive-through is open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bank Midwest opened a Springfield location Sept. 8 at 600 W. Republic Road, a former Union Planters Bank. It is the bank_s first freestanding location in Springfield, as three branches operate within Springfield Wal-Mart Supercenters. Bank Midwest signed a 10-year lease with Griswald Enterprises, the building_s owner. Lobby hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, while the drive-through is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Bank Midwest has its headquarters in Kansas City and is a subsidiary of Dickinson Financial Corporation. There are 74 Bank Midwest banking centers throughout Missouri and Kansas.|ret||ret||tab|

Hollywood Entertainment Corporation Inc. opened a new Hollywood Video store Sept. 24 at 228 W. Sunshine St. in Sunshine Corners. The new rental store also sells movies, games and accessories. Courtney Barnes is store director; there are 13 employees. It is the third Springfield location. Hollywood Video is open 10 a.m.-midnight daily.|ret||ret||tab|
