Metro Shine Co. LLC
After seven months operating Metro Shine Co. LLC on the East Coast, Alex Scott added the mobile waterless car wash service in Springfield on June 1. Running the business from his home, Chief Operations Officer Scott said Metro Shine’s six local employees wash vehicles at scheduled times and on-demand at area businesses and properties, such as Corporate Centre, Highland Springs Country Club, Digital Monitoring Products and Plaza Towers. The three-step process, using a liquid spray cleaner developed by KO Manufacturing, involves surface preparation for bug and debris removal, wash and tire shine. Scott said rates range between $20 and $30, plus $5 for oversized vehicles. “The only water we use is ... to wash the towels in the washing machine,” Scott said, noting it only takes 8 ounces of product to wash the cars and crews are cleaning 10 to 20 per week. The Springfield operation also has a retail component with online reservations, said Scott, who also owns valet service provider Springfield Parking Co. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. Phone: (417) 832-0612. Web: MetroShineCompany.com

BabyFootUSA.com
Business partners Scott and Vera Gibbons and Amy and Jim Morris, who work in the Springfield telecom industry, launched BabyFootUSA.com on Aug. 6. The company’s signature product, Baby Foot, is an exfoliate for feet, removing dead skin, calluses and rough patches, said Vera Gibbons, who with her husband co-owns Tritel Communications Inc. The product uses 17 natural extracts for exfoliation. “You place your foot into the gel. You let it sit for one hour, take it off, rinse your feet off and in day three, four or five … your feet will begin to peel,” Gibbons said. “It will continue to peel for a couple of days, and then it leaves your feet fresh as a baby foot, because it eliminates all the dead layers.” Baby Foot retails for $24.95 for a single treatment, and Gibbons said it is designed to be used about every two months. In addition to online retail sales, Gibbons said the company also handles wholesale distribution to salons and spas and is the U.S. master distributor for the product, which is manufactured in Japan. The business partners have three part-time employees handling fulfillment. Hours: Online 24 hours a day. Phone: (855) 899-3668. Web: BabyFootUSA.com

Macadoodles
Owners Bob and Cathy Blankenship opened a Branson franchise location of Pineville-based liquor store Macadoodles on Aug. 1 at 483 Branson Landing Blvd. Bob Blankenship said the 10,300-square-foot store includes a sales area comprising 9,500 square feet, and the store site includes land for the eventual addition of gas pumps. The liquor store has two tasting bars, he said. One is for wines, typically with a rotating selection of three reds and three whites daily, and the other offers beer and liquor tastings, Blankenship said. In addition to a liquor store with dozens of beers, including Macadoodles Irish Red Ale, the store also has gifts, party supplies and a cigar shop, all operated by a staff of 25 full- and part-time employees, including Blankenship’s son, Brian, who is general manager. Hours: 9 a.m.–9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m.–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Phone: (417) 544-9865. Web: Branson.Macadoodles.com
