McClure Veterinary Clinic
After making a move within sight of its former location in Ozark, McClure Veterinary Clinic opened Oct. 27 in its newly constructed building at 5261 N. 22nd St. Clinic owner Dr. Meda Bacon said Williams Construction Co. was general contractor and handled design work for the roughly 10,000-square-foot facility. Bacon said the clinic, which previously occupied 1,500 square feet in leased space at 5309 N. Town Centre Drive, opened in 2017 under her maiden name. Declining to disclose her investment for the construction project, which began in March, Bacon said she was simply out of room at her original location and reached the point of turning away clients. With the move, the clinic has added boarding and grooming to its list of pet services, which includes wellness exams, vaccinations, blood work, emergency care and in-house lab testing. With expanded services and a larger facility that includes five exam rooms, Bacon said her now nine-employee clinic has added two staff members this month with more expected to be hired soon.

The Daily Blend
New coffee shop The Daily Blend held its grand opening Nov. 3 in Plaza Towers, at the intersection of Glenstone Avenue and Sunshine Street. Plaza Towers and The Daily Blend owner Trent Overhue said the coffee shop, which includes patio seating facing Sunshine Street, occupies roughly 1,500 square feet and employs around 15 on the first floor of the 10-story, 130,000-square-foot building. Overhue declined to disclose startup costs for The Daily Blend. Its menu includes drip and cold brew coffee, specialty drinks such as a banana bread latte and turmeric ginger chai. Smoothies, lemonades, energy drinks and loaded teas are also on the menu. Breakfast options include muffins, pastries, bagels, yogurt bowls and sandwiches. The shop also sells branded coffee mugs and tumblers. Menu prices range $2-$8. Overhue purchased the building in an April foreclosure sale and signaled plans to revive the planned coffee shop, along with an event center and restaurant.
