Buddy’s Best Grain-Free Dog Treats
Ingrid Taylor started Buddy’s Best Grain-Free Dog Treats on April 11. Working from her Springfield home with a commercial feed license through the Missouri Department of Agriculture, Taylor said the dog treats are made with gluten-free, mostly organic ingredients and intended for dogs with grain allergies or for canine weight management. Baked products range from 75 cents for a single peanut butter and carob cookie to $3.50 for a treat sampler pack or a “lollipaw” – two cookies stuck together with a turkey snack stick in the shape of a lollipop. Taylor is a vendor at the Fair Grove farmers market and also will sell treats at the New Life Church Farmers Market when it opens June 11 at 776 W. Farm Road 186. Taylor has roughly 30 years of culinary experience, including as an independent cake decorator and as a former cook for special needs children through the Developmental Center of the Ozarks.
Hours: 3:30–6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fair Grove Farmers Market.
