A seven-year staff member of Meek Chiropractic, according to his LinkedIn profile, Loehr has a bachelor’s in human biology and a doctorate in chiropractic health care from Cleveland Chiropractic College. Jessie Grant opened Christian Brothers Automotive on Feb. 11 at 2315 W. Republic St. After 13 years in construction management, most recently with J.E. Dunn Construction, Lee Grant said he was seeking a new business platform. After three years of research and $125,000 in franchise fees, he’s now working in the auto repair business. Operating with a staff of three, the Grants lease the 5,000-square-foot building from the Christian Brothers parent company for an undisclosed amount. With an atypical royalties structure, the Grants share net profit with the franchisor after expenses are paid. Jessie Grant co-owns the shop – the 124th in the Houston-based franchise system – with her husband, and she works full time as a reading resource teacher in Nixa. Total investment for a Christian Brothers franchise starts at $340,000, and most candidates have between $50,000 to $100,000 in liquid capital, according to the company’s website. The combined parent company operates as Summit Holdings, with divisions of Summit Truck Group, Summit Bus and Summit Lease & Rental. The local truck dealer and repair shop, 2635 E. Diamond St., is now known as Summit Truck Group Springfield, said spokeswoman Mary Dolan. Diamond International in May made a $10 million move to 10 acres fronting Interstate 44 in the New Prime commercial subdivision, where it constructed a 61,600-square-foot building with 15 services bays. Summit Holdings operates 29 commercial truck and bus dealerships in Missouri and six other states, employs 1,300 and expects annual revenue of $1 billion.
