Kyle Kirk bought five acres and invested $735,000 to build his own collision repair shop. Kirk’s Collision Center opened Oct. 14 at 7295 W. Farm Road 170 in Republic, near the Highway 60 and MM interchange. He said four technicians at the 9,800-square-foot center provide custom paint and body repair work. With 14 bays, Kirk’s Collision Center operates a downdraft heated paint booth and Blackhawk frame straightening machine. Kirk, a Nixa High School graduate who attended Lincoln College of Technology in Nashville, Tenn., before starting his business at the age of 21, said he’s working to be placed on the direct repair list for insurance companies, starting with American Family Insurance. KirksCollisionCenter.comMercy Rehabilitation Hospital SpringfieldMercy Springfield Communities opened a long-term rehabilitation hospital April 16 at 5904 S. Southwood Road, near U.S. Highway 65 and Evans Road. The $28 million, 63,000-square-foot Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital has 60 beds, double the number at the main Springfield campus. With an expected hospitalization of two weeks on average, the rehab hospital is equipped with an apartment for patients to practice daily living tasks and an outdoor area to test walking surfaces such as grass and gravel. It also features gymnasiums for therapy treatments, brain injury and stroke units, and pet therapy programs.

Commercial St. Former Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. designers – Zanaboni as the landscape architecture studio lead – the business partners have worked on Branson’s downtown streetscape and Sight & Sound Theatre, as well as streetscapes on Trafficway Street and for College Station. Smith, who has worked in the Tulsa, Okla., market recently, said the firm’s first project was designing the landscape for Friendly Ford’s ongoing makeover. The principals are licensed in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
