Jim Strafuss opened Suds Car Wash on Sept. 15 at 2876 Green Mountain Drive in Branson.
Strafuss, owner of the franchise for Missouri, said this is the first Suds to be built in the state. He said the six year-old company, with headquarters in Fayetteville, Ark., has 18 car washes in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Strafuss was the general contractor through his company IkeAsh LLC. The lender was Twin City Bank of Little Rock and the architect was Cooper Architects of Fayetteville. The total estimated cost of equipment and construction was $1 million.
The 4,500-square-foot car wash has three manual wash bays and two automatic wash bays.
“The franchise has patented a soap that is only sold to Suds. It works in conjunction with the computerized car-cleaning equipment.,” Strafuss said.
Strafuss recently relocated from Fayetteville to Branson and plans to build a Suds Car Wash in Springfield next year as well as develop other residential and commercial projects in Branson.
