The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-76 Central reopened April 15 on the Branson Highway 76 strip, 13 months after being damaged by a tornado. Natasha Edmonds, director of sales and management, said property owner Branson Hotel Venture LLC’s $7 million renovation included a business center, sales office, new lobby and fitness upgrades. Edmonds said Holiday Inn parent company InterContinental Hotels Group is using the redesigned lobby as a prototype for Holiday Inn Express properties worldwide. The hotel has 141 rooms and 10 staff members. Prices are generally $90 for a basic room and $125 for a suite, Edmonds said. Springfield Affordable Housing Center
Community Partnership of the Ozarks and the city of Springfield collaborated to open the Springfield Affordable Housing Center on June 6 at 300 E. Central St. in City Government Plaza. With more than 4,000 square feet of shared office space for up to 15 agencies, the center is designed to offer a one-stop shop for quality affordable housing and homeless prevention services. Will Carter, a marketing and multimedia specialist at Community Partnership of the Ozarks, said by fall, tenants would include the Springfield Community Land Trust, One Door, the Housing Authority and Habitat for Humanity. Projects include residences, apartments and rental properties, along with small retail and office commercial jobs, for clients in Austin, San Antonio and Los Angeles. Durand has 15 years of experience, working as a specialist in drapery, custom bedding, textiles and soft furnishings.
