Owners Steve McClanahan and Jared Ganir on March 26 opened Hines Street Pharmacy LLC in a newly constructed 26,800-square-foot building at 1173 E. Hines St. in Republic. The $500,000 project was funded by a U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loan issued through Rural Missouri Inc. and Liberty Bank. Pharmacist McClanahan said Hines Street Pharmacy offers prescription service, over-the-counter products, vitamins, supplements and medical supplies. The pharmacy also features a drive-through service and free local delivery, and McClanahan teaches a free diabetes management class. Hines Street employs six and accepts all major insurance plans. Anna Sophia’s Gifts LLC
Diane Gumucio purchased the seven-year-old Anna Sophia’s Gifts LLC at 2714 S. Glenstone Ave. and reopened the store Feb. 20 after a two-month hiatus. Gumucio, who bought the Brentwood Center store from Karen Eagles for an undisclosed amount, leases the 2,369-square-foot space from Gillenwaters Developers Inc. for $2,467 per month. Gumucio said the retail shop is equally divided between international fair trade products from developing areas around the world – such as Africa, India, South America, Vietnam and the Philippines – and Catholic gifts including Bibles, rosaries, crucifixes, saint medals and school uniforms. Anna Sophia’s also carries Toms shoes. Gumucio said gifts are priced up to $70, and adult Toms shoes start at $44. Hours: 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. Black Oak Grill
Black Oak Grill made its debut March 27 at 601 Branson Landing Blvd. in Branson. The eatery is one of 115 restaurants worldwide under Dallas-based Consolidated Restaurant Operations Inc. General Manager Scott Bryant said the roughly 6,500-square-foot restaurant across from Belk serves comfort cuisine and can seat up to 300 people. Black Oak Grill employs about 80 and features an outdoor patio. Menu items range from $9 to $24, and specialties include chicken-fried flat iron steak and iron skillet trout. Consolidated Restaurant Operations also runs Cantina Laredo on the Branson Landing and El Chico, which closed its Springfield restaurant in early 2010.
