Grove Deli opened June 14 on the first floor of Ferrell-Duncan Clinic at 1001 E. Primrose. The 1,100-square-foot location also has a pharmacy, which has been operating in the clinic since 1986, said Gary Grove, owner (pictured on far right with Colby Grove, assistant manager and Jeff Taylor, manager). Rationale behind the food service was to accommodate on-site patients and employees, he said. The deli employs three and is managed by Jeff Taylor; the pharmacy employs four. Menu items include sandwiches, wraps, salads and side items with smoothies to be added soon. He would not provide leasing information or the cost of the remodel. Grove's other pharmacy location is at 1522 E. Sunshine. The deli is open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.|ret||ret||tab|

The $14.5 million structure was built by Wirt Construction, and the project manager was Mary Jackson. Butler, Rosenbury and Partners Inc. was the architect. Kids Care Connection opened May 28 at 1821 E. Jacqueline. The caregiver referral agency connects "parents with caregivers for all types of situations with their children," said Ruth Ankrom, co-owner with Carolie Schultz and the business' only employees. Services include providing part-time or full-time nannies and babysitters who can work in home or on site when a business location is the site where care is given. Those providing care are paid by the individuals or organizations using them; Kids Care Connection is paid for its services in arranging the care. Caregivers are screened, TB tested and certified regarding infant and child CPR procedures, Ankrom said. She expected the business to make $50,000 in 2004. Hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday and on call 24-hours a day.|ret||ret||tab|
