Great Southern Bank
Great Southern Bank (Nasdaq: GSBC) moved its downtown Springfield branch April 1 one block north to 331 South Ave. The move represents a return home for Great Southern, which occupied the roughly 20,000-square-foot building 1955–1986. It previously operated the center city branch in leased space at 430 South Ave., a building the bank sold in 2003 as the company made the transition to the Great Southern Operations Center on Glenstone Avenue. The bank acquired the building at South Avenue and Walnut Street in August after letting its lease expire in March. Branch Manager Kelli Artherton works with personal banker Ashton Morgans and five tellers at the full-service branch with a drive thru, ATM and safe-deposit boxes. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; drive-thru open until 6 p.m. Phone: (417) 895-4512. Web: GreatSouthernBank.com

Clarity Recovery & Wellness
Sigma House of Springfield Inc. changed its name March 22 to Clarity Recovery & Wellness. The group, which provides detoxification services, residential and outpatient addiction treatment, family support and parenting services, rebranded after determining its mission was not clearly communicated in its name. “The name Sigma House was more likely to be taken for a fraternity than a recovery center,” said grant writer Dawn Erickson, noting the process involved grants, contests and research of a couple hundred names. “We were able to conduct this branding process like a new business.” She said a nearly $20,000 grant from Missouri Foundation for Health funded a marketing consultant, Applegate Consulting, which led the name search and wrote a communications plan. A $1,500 grant from Community Foundation of the Ozarks is helping to build an endowment. The agency – founded in 1977 under Council of Churches of the Ozarks but now operating under its own 12-member board – employs 80 across four offices and serves 12,000 clients annually in 11 southwest Missouri counties. A Branson facility will retain its name, the Simmering Center, honoring the late Larry Simmering. Hours: 24 hours daily. Phone: (417) 862-3339. Web: ClarityRecovery.org

Yoga Studio 72
Ten-year yoga practitioner Dustin Turner opened Yoga Studio 72 on March 11 at 3170 E. Sunshine St., Ste. J. Turner teaches the Iyengar tradition using breathing techniques and props that he said complement the Power 9 Principles taught by Dan Buettner, author of “The Blue Zones,” a program recently introduced to Springfield through CoxHealth Network. He said the Blue Zone principles overlap with traditional yoga practices, such as natural versus forced movements in exercise. Turner, who previously taught at Body of Work Studio and Success Naturally, said he personally financed the $33,000 startup with three years of savings. He leases the 2,450-square-foot space from Neil Wood for $1,100 a month for three years. He said the classes, taught by six instructors, include private and specialized sessions such as all male, therapy and rope classes. Hours: Classes held in intervals 9 a.m.–6:45 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 7 a.m.–8:15 p.m. Tuesday, 10:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.–noon Friday and Saturday. Phone: (417) 773-5977.
