Gamble’s Gifts II
David and Sandy Harrison moved Gamble’s Gifts to 2704 S. Glenstone Ave. in the Brentwood Center and reopened Sept. 10 as Gamble’s Gifts II. The Harrisons have owned the 41-year-old business since 1985 and previously operated from 1332 E. Republic Road. David Harrison said the new location is about 2,000 square feet, located between Manoli’s Jewelers and Nearly Famous Deli. The Harrisons signed a two-year lease for undisclosed terms with Gillenwaters Developers Inc. The store is adding new products such as jewelry and candles to go with traditional items such as Waterford crystal and the Department 56 line of collectibles, said Harrison, who is an author of children’s books. Hours: 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 881-7555.

Your Commercial Kitchen Inc.
Your Commercial Kitchen Inc. opened Oct. 18 at 3433 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. C. Owners Warren and Carol Muldrow say Your Commercial Kitchen offers two kitchens – a fully equipped commercial kitchen for use in food manufacturing or catering and a demonstration kitchen. Hourly rental rates range between $12.50 and $30. Carol Muldrow got the idea for the commercial kitchen business a year ago when she started making wine jelly after losing her job in the insurance business. In launching the venture, My Mary’s Jellies, she said it was challenging to find available kitchens for limited food production. The Muldrows signed a three-year lease with building owner John Youngblood. Hours: By appointment. Phone: (417) 343-8751.

Southern Bank
Poplar Bluff-based Southern Bank opened a loan production office Sept. 1 at 4650 S. National Ave., Ste. C-7. “The idea is to eventually expand into a full-service facility,” said Dave Tooley, who came out of retirement to manage the branch. Tooley, a 35-year financial industry veteran, retired in March as president and CEO of Metropolitan National Bank, where he had worked for nine years. Tooley said Southern Bank President and CEO Greg Steffens, with whom he had worked at a Mount Vernon bank before moving to Metropolitan National, approached him about the job. Southern Bank was chartered in 1887 as Poplar Bluff Loan and Building, according to www.bankwithsouthern.com. The bank (Nasdaq: SMBC), which became publicly traded in 1994, operates nine locations in southeast and southwest Missouri and five in northeast Arkansas. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 883-0050.
