Galloway Mercantile
The owners behind Cassidy Station, a commercial agritourism operation on a century farm in Christian County, opened Galloway Mercantile on March 1 at 4144 S. Lone Pine Ave. Kyle and Hollie Estes own the Galloway Village shop, which is a sister store to Cassidy Mercantile, which the couple launched in late 2022. The Cassidy Station development in Nixa also includes a floral shop, meat store and event venues. Carissa Bedford said she manages the three-employee Galloway Mercantile, which fills 1,100 square feet on the first floor and sells products including clothing, home decor, household items, ice cream and meat from Cassidy Station. Additionally, an 1,100-square-foot coffee shop is planned upstairs with an estimated late summer opening. Kyle Estes said he and his wife also own the building, from which his great-great-grandfather, Lon Patterson, ran a general store in the 1930s. He declined to disclose startup costs for Galloway Mercantile, which is in space formerly occupied by The End Times Electric Tattoo Co. LLC, which shuttered.

The article places Cassidy Station in Nixa. While its mailing address might suggest otherwise, Cassidy Station is actually in the county, outside of any municipal limits. It cannot be annexed by Nixa because a municipality's borders must be contiguous; they cannot "leapfrog" over other cities. For Cassidy Station at Estes Farms to be in Nixa, it would have to illegally bypass Fremont Hills and Ozark. A more accurate association for Cassidy Station would be with the adjacent communities of Ozark or Fremont Hills. Despite this, the Postal Service has assigned it a Nixa address, causing unnecessary confusion.

This issue extends beyond Cassidy Station. The OTC Richwood Campus also has a Nixa mailing address, even though it's located within Ozark city limits and receives services from Ozark. It would be beneficial for the Postal Service to correct these address misrepresentations and adopt a more logical approach to future assignments.
