FM Stores
Co-owners Bill and Edna Arbeitman, and their son Todd, moved FM Stores on Sept. 4 to 2814 S. Fremont Ave., just west of Battlefield Mall. The Arbeitmans sold fabrics, quilting materials and accessories from 1368 E. Sunshine St. for 17 years, after the family purchased the operation from Abe Kershenbaum. The move to double its retail space cost $1.4 million, including construction of the new store built by Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. The Arbeitmans run the 10,000-square-foot showroom with the help of 12 employees, said co-owner Todd Arbeitman, noting the two most popular items are decorative fabric, which costs $5.99 to $7.99 per yard, and quilt fabric, which ranges between $2.99 and $6.99 per yard. Another 5,000 square feet in the new building is available for lease. Hours: 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 882-9244.

ATA Martial Arts
Richard and Kelly Harman moved ATA Martial Arts to 4240 S. Fremont Ave. on May 1. They operate the 7,000-square-foot space with two full-time and six part-time employees, offering martial arts, wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu classes, as well as fitness training called Cage Fitness. The Harmans founded ATA Martial Arts in 1995, and the gym had several homes before settling on Fremont Avenue. The new site satisfied parking needs and afforded the gym space for three exercise floors, said Richard Harman, a seventh-degree black belt and a member of the American Taekwondo Association for 25 years. His wife, Kelly, is in the process of achieving a sixth-degree black belt. Harman declined to disclose moving cost and lease details. Hours: 9 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Battlefield Road, Ste. 15, in Salon Suites, where she operated under the name Mosaic Hair Design Salon. With the move, Rogers hired five employees and now offers spa services, including pedicures, manicures, aesthetician services, massages and wellness consultations. Rogers received her salon education through Paul Mitchell training school The System Inc. She said the most popular services are women’s coloring, starting at $55, and men’s haircuts at $19.
