Environmental Works Inc.
Five employees acquired Environmental Works Inc. for an undisclosed amount on June 5 from the estate of founder Robin Melton. Three owners work in Springfield – CEO Jamie Sivils, President Jason Smith and CFO Andrea Pence – while Regional Manager Meredith Kenworthy and Managing Principal Paul Dial are in EWI’s Kansas City office. Melton died in a September 2012 plane accident, and company ownership went into an established trust. “We all had the opportunity to work with Robin, learn how she operated and understand what her goals for the company were,” Sivils said in a news release. “Each board member was chosen by her, and we are all honored to serve and carry out her vision for EWI.” The company, which Marketing Manager Kassia Travers said employs 36 in Springfield and 59 between the two offices, performs environmental services, including investigations, remediation, consulting and 24-hour emergency cleanup. Hours: 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 890-9500. Web: EnvironmentalWorks.com
