Dutch Bros Coffee
Nov. 7 marked the Queen City debut for Dutch Bros Coffee at 3840 W. Sunshine St. near the intersection of Sunshine Street and West Bypass. Tim Roberts is the operator of the shop, along with a second location that opened in Branson Nov. 15. Both are owned by Dutch Bros Inc. (NYSE: BROS). The drive-thru coffee chain was founded in Oregon over 30 years ago. Along with coffee options such as lattes, espressos and cold brew, Dutch Bros’ drink menu includes energy drinks, iced tea, lemonade, shakes, smoothies and sodas. The local stores’ food menu consists of treats such as an orange cranberry muffin top, but Roberts said the company is starting to roll out hot food options in its stores across the country. He expects those options to be in the Springfield and Branson stores sometime next year. Most drink prices range $5-$8. Dutch Bros had over 1,080 locations in 24 states as of Sept. 30, according to its website. The roughly 1,400-square-foot Springfield store employs nearly 50 and is led by manager Keith Stuke, Roberts said, declining to disclose startup costs.

Elliott, Robinson & Co.
A pair of Springfield-based certified public accounting firms have combined through an acquisition that closed last month. Elliott, Robinson & Co. LLP has purchased HTSG CPAs and Advisors in a deal that officials say closed for undisclosed terms on Nov. 1. Elliott, Robinson & Co. is the continuing name of the combined entity through the deal. All HTSG CPAs employees are transitioning to employment at ERCPA. That includes firm leaders Stephen R. Gintz, who is joining ERCPA as a partner, and Donald L. Hagan and Leilani L. Hagan, who will start a phased retirement transition in 2026. On Springfield Business Journal’s September-published list of the area’s largest CPA firms, ERCPA ranked No. 3 and HTSG CPAs ranked No. 10, based on number of local CPAs. For the list, ERCPA reported 25 CPAs and 48 total staff members, while HTSG CPAs reported five CPAs and 18 total staff members. HTSG CPAs was created through the 2016 merger of O’Dell, Hagan & Co. LLP and Tucker & Co. PC, while ERCPA was founded in 1973.

Resolution Family Law
Springfield attorney Andy Scholz started a solo practice with the Nov. 18 opening of Resolution Family Law. The firm, located at 4905 S. National Ave., Ste A112, focuses on family-related legal matters such as divorce, custody, support, property division and mediation. Scholz has 25 years of legal experience, most recently at Rooney, McBride & Smith LLC since 2019. His last day there was Nov. 14, said Laine Scholz, Andy’s wife and the new firm’s legal assistant, office manager and marketing manager. Andy and Laine Scholz are the firm’s sole employees, she said, noting plans to bring on a paralegal within the first six months. Declining to disclose startup costs for Resolution Family Law, Laine Scholz said they are “very low.” That’s partly because Resolution Family Law has an office-sharing sublease for roughly 3,600 square feet with Assertion Law Firm LLC, she said. Andy Scholz’ career also includes work with the Missouri attorney general’s office, Boone County prosecuting attorney’s office in Columbia and Pratt & Grisham LLC.
