Republic Paw Pantry Nonprofit organization Republic Paw Pantry began its mission July 29 to prevent dogs and cats from being abandoned due to financial constraints. The mobile organization works mainly through its website and through Facebook. Board President
Kristal Gaines, who works full-time as a marketing consultant for Waste Corporation of Missouri Inc., conceived the idea and brought on Vice President
Sarah Metz, Treasurer
Kerri Bilyeu and Secretary
Kami Means to aid in the cause. Gaines said the nonprofit operates with two to five volunteers on a regular basis, but more are required during events, such as an online Scentsy fundraiser through Oct. 26 and an Oct. 27 Modern Pet Photo Contest at Lasting Memories Photography in Republic. The Paw Pantry relies heavily on donations, and Gaines said there are plans to pursue grants in the near future. She said Paw Pantry’s two biggest regular donors are Republic Fanning Family Pet Care LLC and String Animal Clinic. Phone: (417) 893-0086. Web:
