CoxHealth opened a Quick Care Clinic on Jan. 21 in Hy-Vee at 1720 W. Battlefield Road. Corporate Vice President David Taylor said the health care provider has a five-year lease with Hy-Vee Inc. for its 450-square-foot office adjacent to the in-store dietitian. The clinic provides basic primary care services, including sports physicals, immunizations, employee screenings and treatment of minor injuries for patients over 18 months of age. Taylor said the Hy-Vee site, managed by CoxHealth Director of Regional Services Amy Lea, employs two nurse practitioners and two front-office staff. It is the sixth clinic CoxHealth has opened inside of an area retail business since 2009. Terms of the lease and startup costs were not disclosed. Lean Business Intelligence
Through High Impact Metrics LLC, Marty Preuss opened Lean Business Intelligence on Jan. 21 in the Originate co-working space at 405 N. Jefferson Ave. Preuss pays $200 per month for desk space and 24-hour office access, and he estimated total startup costs at under $10,000. Similar to High Impact Metrics, Preuss said Lean Business Intelligence offers consulting to improve manufacturing processes, including waste and working capital reduction, inventory logistics and quality management. A certified Lean Six Sigma black belt and the company’s sole employee, Preuss said his long-term goal is to create a certification process for LBI as its own performance improvement methodology. Xtreme Krav Maga Springfield
Kevin Williams opened martial arts school Xtreme Krav Maga Springfield on Nov. 1 at 4032 W. Lark St. in Battlefield. Williams signed a five-year lease for 14,000 square feet with HMR Properties LLP for undisclosed terms, and he estimated startup costs at $15,000. Specializing in instruction of the Israeli self-defense discipline, Williams said memberships range from $70-$150 per month for unlimited classes. He also offers fitness boot camp and cardio class memberships at $50 per month and private lessons for $35 per hour. Affiliated with Xtreme Krav Maga LLC in St. Louis, Williams pays an undisclosed monthly fee. Hours: 5:30 a.m.–6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.–noon Saturday.
