Club Up Rentals
Under the umbrella of Club Up LLC, Tara Pendergrass and Jim Kennedy opened Club Up Rentals on April 1. The co-owners run the business out of their home and rent golf clubs to golfers in the Springfield and Branson areas. Pendergrass said the idea for the business was conceived during the winter months when she and Kennedy became frustrated with the hassle of transporting their clubs on vacation. Club Up rents clubs for a 24-hour period to customers for a standard price of $35 for a set of Adams Tight Lies for men, women and juniors. Premium rentals of Nike clubs and special requests are available for $40, Pendergrass said. With one-day notice, Club Up delivers the clubs to golf courses, hotels or any customer-selected site and picks them up from a designated location. Rentals include a towel, golf balls and tees, and a club brush. Hours: 24 hours daily. Phone: (417)-592-3162. Web: ClubUpRentals.com

Shabby Chic Bra Boutique
Three months after losing their jobs as bra fitters for The Lingerie Store, Carol Norman and Ann Pettit on June 1 opened Shabby Chic Bra Boutique at 2309 S. Campbell Ave. in the Camelot Shopping Center. Lingerie Store owner Shawn Jett retired and closed the store March 1, and Norman and Pettit are using their experience to specialize in selling larger bra sizes – cups F to N and band sizes 28 to 56 inches. Pettit and Norman invested about $12,000 of savings to start the business and have compiled an inventory of nearly $24,000 in brassieres, lingerie, jewelry and beauty products. Prices range between $40 and $80. Hours: 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417)-885-0031.

Amazin’ Asian
First-time restaurateur Connie Tram opened Amazin’ Asian on May 25 at 2941 E. Battlefield Road, a former Smoothie King location that closed at the end of February. With estimated startup costs of $150,000, Tram renovated the 2,080-square-foot space, including changes in the dining area and kitchen. Amazin’ Asian has a staff of 13 part-time employees and specializes in traditional Chinese food, such as cashew chicken, broccoli beef and sweet-and-sour shrimp. Entrees start at $5.39 and are available in half, regular or large sizes. Hours: 11 a.m.-–9 p.m. daily. Phone: (417)-882-4000
